Detroit Lions 0- 16?

Will the Detroit Lions do the Lambeau Rock tomorrow in Green Bay and save their best for last to at least win one for the season?

Or will they fail to roar and choke (for the nth time) and lay a big fat egg once again?

OK here's the deal--

Win ONE guys and let Travis Fisher walk his big fat ass back home to Deeeetroit.

Note: This post is a somewhat late reaction (payback?) to the Detroit Lions team and management regarding their contempt and indifference and their "F--- 'Em" attitude to their fans for years now.

Will Allen Iverson be the "Answer" to the Detroit Lions' rotten football season?

No, we're not talking about practice. We're not talking about basketball either. We're actually talking about Football here.

The NFL’s Detroit Lions at 0- 15 as of this writing are winless and are on track of finishing the worst season in franchise history as well as an ignominious record of ending the season without a win. The team is the laughingstock of the football world and is the butt of all kinds of jokes in this football- crazy city.

I can still remember vividly what the driver of the Ford Rouge Factory tour bus had said when we passed by and pointed at the Lions’ training facility in Allen Park on our way to the F- 150 factory in Dearborn, “that’s the state of the art training center of the Detroit Lions, they got all the beautiful high tech toys and gadgets in there. If only they learn how to win a game, my world will be better.”

Yes, the Lions, the odd-man out in Detroit’s highly- successful Sports franchises is so pathetic that many people in Motown are actually clamoring for Allen Iverson to ditch the Pistons and lead the hapless Football team as its starting Quarterback even for a day, that is the Lions last game of the season at Lambeau Field against the Packers in Green Bay where they haven't won in years.

Now, of course that’s just one of the silly prepositions and the current outrageous joke circulating in various sports bars and tail-gating venues, that maybe, the Answer, who once played QB back in high school (and even won a state title back then) could be the answer to the team’s woes even for a day.

And with the current rot that the Lions are in, I really think that it's worth a try.

Oops…

Anyway, here's A.I. playing QB and leading his team in High School...

WHITEOUT

Today is the first official day of winter and what a way to welcome the season, what with Mother Nature bombarding us early this morning with a foot of snow and temperature running in the teens plus the dreaded wind gusts hovering between 0 to minus 10 degrees Fahrenheit and will remain that way into Christmas Day.

Of course, a White Christmas is not that bad for the casual Michiganders; a positive thing to cheer about if you look at it one way, a welcome respite for people hit hard by the present economic turmoil.

Michigan is a winter wonderland right now but not too many people are happy about it. I don’t mind the snow and the cold really except for some inconvenience in driving around the area where the salt trucks are very slow to react to the changing weather conditions coupled with several drivers who still drive like maniacs even in blizzard conditions.

Anyway, a few of them ended up in the emergency rooms, while others found themselves flying into the ditches and a few went straight to the pearly gates. So much for their ill- conceived bravado in these unforgiving times, if you ask me.

Last night, I looked out of my window at 3:45 AM and smiled thinking that the weather forecasters have once again screwed up since they have proclaimed that a winter storm will hit the state between the times of 1 to 4 in the morning.

So, I went back to bed and woke up at 7, went out and was greeted by the vista of a whiteout landscape and the howling wind. So, what can I say, be careful of what you wish for, huh?!

Still, I took the car out of the garage and drove off to the other side of town, sleet, snow and ice notwithstanding...

Here are some clips that I took while on the road this morning…
